Just a quick post to thank all those who have willingly served in our United States Military even though they were asked to keep a part of themselves hidden. And also, thanks to those who served beside someone they knew were gay/lesbian & chose not to judge them, but instead respect their love/dedication to our country. Today the United States Congress placed our country one step closer to equality for all by voting to repeal 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell'.

Although I've never come across a name as 'unique' as the ones in this video, I've heard some that have made me go 'what the fuck'. What the fuck are people thinking when they contemplate baby names? I understand being Afro-centric or using a combination of mom & dad's name, but sometimes it goes a little too far.
A coWorker of mine went to school with a chick named Senta Bacon - they might as well named her Floyd Mayweather cuz that chick is gonna have to fight like it's going out of style when ho's pick on her. Fortunately *insert sarcasm* at my job I hear LOTS of these names, like Kuronda...wtf. My boss' mom works in the public school system & this doozy hit her desk... La-a (pronounced La dash a). That name can just be chalked up to the kid's momma being a dumb ho.
And it never fails that after the shock of hearing the name or trying to figure out wtf they just said, spelling the name is required - ho's like Equashenay DO NOT like spelling their names. I guess you just have to give the baby mommas props for creativity (even though names like Jennifer are just fine).

Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi
29 days! 29 days before my most favorite time of the year…the start of the tennis season and the first major of year, the Australian Open!

I can’t explain to you why I love tennis so much (okay, one of the reasons is cute boys running around sweaty & in shorts, but I digress). Tennis is the one sport that can make sit and watch for hours on end. A good match can raise my heart rate, blood pressure & make my hands all clammy…and I like it - I like it A LOT!!!
The Australian Open is one of my favorite tournaments to watch - it’s much like the US Open - the Aussie’s know how to party. Not that I have anything against the French (French Open http://www.fft.fr/rolandgarros/default_en.asp) or the Brits (Wimbledon http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/index.html), but their tournaments as great as they are can be a bit ‘stuffy’ at times. I must admit, I do like the Wimbledon whites!
I don’t really have a favorite player, I just really enjoy the game - as long as the match is competitive. Blow-outs are okay to talk about, but they’re rather boring to watch.
Even though I don’t have a favorite player, there are some that I find irritating to watch - like the Andys. Don’t get me wrong, I like both guys, but I feel the haven’t played their best tennis when they could have. Andy Roddick & Andy Murray are both amazingly great players who have not really lived up to their potential. Andy Roddick (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_roddick) has one major title to his credit, but even in this era of Federer/Nadal I feel he should have won at least 2 more majors. Andy Murray (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Murray) is arguably the best British tennis player of his generation - no offense to Tim Henman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_henman) who was a good player in his own right & kinda hot. Andy Murray has a game that should have awarded him numerous majors, but he like Mr. Roddick, has not played up to his potential in the bigger moments, especially in big moments at majors. Both of these guys in big tournaments seem to play rather passively & make bad shot choices. They both have the game, physically, but mentally, they slip.
I don’t mean to leave the ladies out, but the women’s game - at least at this tournament - is pretty much wide opened. So many injuries & so many one time top players looking to make a comeback will make this Aussie Open an interesting one.
I won’t make any predictions, but I can’t wait for it to begin.
